  • How much can I save by installing artificial grass?

In our experience, one of the biggest benefits of switching to synthetic grass landscaping is its long-term cost-saving benefits. According to This Old House, artificial grass typically costs anywhere from $2.00 to $8.00 per square foot. However, our turf experts have seen slightly different estimates in our market. When it comes to the initial investment, synthetic grass is more expensive, costing an average of $9.00 per square foot versus $2.50 for natural grass. However, we've seen that most homeowners receive an ROI in approximately 2.5 years due to the long-term savings.

  • How long does turf last?

In our experience, high-quality artificial grass can last up to 20 years with average use and regular cleaning maintenance. To back this up, we offer a limited 15-year warranty on all landscape turf purchased from our warehouses.

  • Is artificial grass safe for children and pets?

Yes. All Synthetic Grass Warehouse turf products are lead-free and safe for both kids and pets. We also offer a selection of artificial grass products specially engineered for use in pet-friendly areas and kids’ playgrounds. They include an eco-friendly foam underlayer that protects kids from impact falls, and our pet turf is ultra-durable for all-day running and roughhousing.

  • How do you maintain artificial grass?

Maintaining fake grass involves cleaning, brushing, and addressing stains when they happen. To properly clean, remove twigs and leaves, rinse with water to get rid of dust, and clean up after dogs who may go to the bathroom on it right away. Regularly brushing the turf fibers keeps them upright and helps to maintain that manicured look. Finally, if a spill happens, dry and rinse immediately, and use a mild detergent for more stubborn stains.

  • What exactly is artificial turf?

Artificial turf is a surface of synthetic fibers made to look like natural grass. It even comes in different blade lengths and widths, colors, and textures, like real grass, so you can choose the look you like.

  • How is artificial grass eco-friendly?

In addition to being aesthetically appealing and low-maintenance, synthetic grass also aids in multiple aspects of environmental conservation.

    • Water Conservation: In most parts of the country, natural grass needs to be watered several times per week to stay green and healthy, according to our team.
    • Less Chemical Use: Harmful chemicals from natural grass maintenance products often seep into the soil and nearby water sources, potentially damaging the local environment.
    • Reduced Air Pollution: Lawnmowers, edgers, and other gas-powered maintenance tools required for natural grass lawns all create air pollution. Switching to artificial turf reduces carbon emissions and improves local air quality.
  • Does artificial grass melt?

Yes. In our experience, synthetic turf melts at 175 degrees or greater. Avoid using BBQs directly over your turf, and never pour boiling water onto the surface of your turf landscaping. If your house or business has double-paned windows installed, we recommend getting a UV filter applied to your windows before installing artificial turf, as the glare from double-paned windows has a history of reaching high temperatures.

  • How do you maintain artificial turf?

It’s pretty easy. Remove dirt and debris with a blower, brush, or sweeper. Groom the grass with a plastic leaf rake, stiff-bristled broom, or power broom to help keep grass looking fresh. Pull the broom against the lay of the turf to lift the blades. Rinse the turf with water. In our experience, an occasional rinse with water will keep the grass clean.
